Allura Partners appoints CFO & CTO for the Qscan Group

In October 2020, listed infrastructure owner Infratil and Morrison & Co agreed to pay just north of $730 million to Quadrant Private Equity for their Australian radiology business QScan. The transaction completed earlier this year.

In June 2021, their previous CFO departed the business and the need to appoint a high-powered proven private equity CFO was required to support the growth strategy of the new owners. Back in 2016, Allura Partners appointed Steve Becker as the CFO for Affinity Education; back then a newly acquired Anchorage Capital Partners investment. Having developed a relationship with Steve that has spanned over 7 years to date, Allura Partners knew his calibre, strength and reputation as an exceptional and proven private equity CFO, a reputation that started from his Mantra Group days back in 2007 as their CFO under CVC Capital Partners ownership. Having a long standing relationship with Steve, Allura Partners is delighted to announce his appointment as the CFO for the Qscan Group to work for Chris Munday Group Chief Executive Officer and alongside his leadership team.

In addition to a new CFO, the Qscan Group also required a Group Chief Technology officer; a newly created role to execute a digital transformation roadmap to underpin the success of the next phase of their impressive growth journey under their new owners. This role required a CTO with a proven track record in scaling IT teams at rapid pace, fostering a world class culture and creating a best in class product offering, all of which are key to the core values of Qscan. During the search, Simon Button was identified. He had just successfully executed a 5-year strategy which he put in place for RSL Queensland when he joined back in early 2016. The work he accomplished there deservedly landed him #6 in the CIO50 list for 2019. His combination of exceptional leadership skills, technology expertise and executive acumen suggest he has every tool to succeed in this role.

Congratulations Steve and Simon! We wish you both the best of luck in your new roles. A very exciting time for the both of you and the Qscan Group!
